WINTER LETTER 2025/2026

Dear Members,
 

Pineloch Sun (PLS) issues parking permits to be used to park in PLS parking areas during Winter, as we close our roads seasonally for the safety of our members and enjoyment of having snowy roads for tracked vehicle travel.

In order to receive your parking permit, you must be a “member in good standing” as described in the PLS bylaws, Article III section 4. 

 

Your permit must be displayed in your vehicle to utilize PLS parking areas, which include: 

• Lodge – in front of the tennis court 

• Middle triangle lot – between SR903 and the lodge, north end only. (Storage unit property)

• Tom Write Road lot– along the upper south side of Tom Write Road (see maps below) Rules have been enacted regarding parking on PLS property. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!

Failure to follow these rules may result in your vehicle being towed at owner expense or parking permits revoked for the season. 

 

We will close the gates at Tom Write Rd and Pineloch Sun Dr when snow levels in Division I and II make driving conditions unsafe for passenger vehicles. As we approach this point, we will keep the community informed; however, please note that gate closures may occur with only 8 to 12 hours' notice. As a general guideline, if there is more than 4-6 inches of snow on the ground with more snow in the forecast, we are likely approaching the need to close the gates. 

 

​​Please remember that our decision to close the gates is made on behalf of the entire community, considering both experienced snow drivers and those with less experience driving in these conditions.

 

• The yellow gates at Pineloch Sun Dr and Tom Write Rd will be closed and locked.

•  Your PLS Board of Directors and PLS Staff monitor road conditions daily and make the decision to close/open the gates with the safety of our members as the top priority.

• Snow tracks are required on all vehicles when the gates are closed and the “Tracked Vehicles Only” signs are posted. Members violating this rule may be towed or have their parking pass revoked for the season.

• Grooming of PLS roads will begin when there is ample snow coverage. The current grooming schedule is planned for Monday nights/Tuesday mornings, Thursday nights/Friday mornings, and Saturday nights/Sunday mornings. Please note that this schedule may change without notice due to weather, equipment breakdowns, or snow conditions.

• All vehicle parking on PLS property shall be by permit only. 

• DO NOT park between the “NO PARKING” signs in the northeast corner of the Tom Write parking lot. This area is reserved for the owners of the parking lot. Pineloch Sun does not own this parking lot and has a strict agreement with the property owner. Vehicles parked there will be considered trespassing on private property and will be towed at the owners expense. 

• Please be considerate of others when parking your vehicles, trailers, snowmobiles, ATV’s, or side by sides in the areas that are plowed for vehicles. 

• Members will be issued a vehicle parking permit that must be displayed by hanging from your rearview mirror or placed on your dash easily visible. Each owner will be issued 1 parking permit for each lot owned. Members may obtain a guest pass at the lodge. No guest passes will be issued the week between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day. 

• No long-term (greater than 4 days) parking of vehicles or trailers on PLS property or within the Tom Write parking lot (not PLS property). 

• No long-term parking of snowmobiles, quads, UTV’s, or other vehicles in the groomer turn around at the base of Tom Wright road

• No parking of snowmobiles, Quads, UTV’s, etcetera on the groomed roads (blocks groomer)

• Long term parking of snowmobiles (greater than 4 days) is provided for members in the area between the PLS rental house and the clubhouse.

• No trailer parking in the middle triangle parking lot or in the lodge parking lot, single vehicles only.

Please be respectful and limit the use of quads, Rangers, Kubotas or any UTV type vehicle when the roads are soft or freshly groomed. Many vehicles of this kind can create deep ruts and make the roads challenging for others.
